FAQ

What kinds of clients do you work with?

I work with individuals, couples, and polycules who are looking to deepen their connections, navigate challenges, or explore new dimensions of their sexual and relational lives. Many of my clients are drawn to therapy because they value growth, honesty, and a willingness to explore sensitive topics in a safe space.

What issues can you help with?

Some of the areas I specialize in include:

  • Ethical non-monogamy and open relationships

  • Kink and BDSM exploration

  • Desire discrepancies

  • Sexual performance concerns

  • Navigating changes related to menopause and aging

  • Supporting neurodivergent clients in sexual and relational contexts

  • Healing from sexual trauma

What does “sex-positive” mean in your practice?

Being sex-positive means I approach sexuality with openness, curiosity, and respect. I do not judge clients for their desires, identities, or relationship structures. Instead, I help you explore what feels authentic and fulfilling for you—whether that’s within traditional frameworks or more expansive ones.

Where is your office located?

My practice is based in Emeryville, conveniently located for clients coming from Oakland, Berkeley, and other parts of the East Bay and the wider San Francisco Bay Area.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. While I enjoy working with clients in person at my Emeryville office, I also offer secure telehealth sessions for California residents who prefer the flexibility of online therapy.

How long are sessions, and how often do we meet?

Most sessions are 50 minutes. Many clients start with weekly sessions, though we can adjust frequency as your needs evolve.

How much does therapy cost?

I work with full-fee clients who are seeking a meaningful and committed therapeutic relationship. Please contact me directly to discuss current session fees.

Do you accept insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance directly. However, I can provide a superbill for clients who wish to seek reimbursement from their insurance company.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy, and I take it seriously. There are a few legal exceptions (such as concerns about immediate harm or abuse), which I will explain clearly during our first session.

How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?

The best way to know is to try a session. Therapy is a deeply personal process, and it’s important to feel comfortable with your therapist. If we’re a good fit, we’ll build a strong, collaborative relationship. If not, I’ll gladly help you find someone who might be a better match.

How do I get started?

Reach out via my Contact page to schedule a consultation. We’ll talk briefly about your goals and needs, and you’ll have a chance to ask any questions before scheduling a first session.
